Satisfaction
Here is a painting of a woman being pleasured. The window is open with a cool breeze blowing the curtains. The light is on and the blinds are up so you can see she is an exhibitionist. From this pose it is not clear if she is being pleasured or pleasuring herself. However her facial expression makes it quite obvious what she is doing. With the sweet fragrance of the flowers in the foreground. This is a copy of a American painter named Wesselmann. I think. He was a contemporary of Andy Warhol . Its a 30 x 40 oil on linen $ 200.000 USD

Sewing Quilts
My youngest daughter was watching Project Runway the other day and said she would like to learn how to design clothes that looks like fun. So I got my Grandmothers old machine out and we made a Cape. It did not take long before it turned into work and that is something she is not accustom to ha ha.It is tedious and time consuming. And even tho she has more patience than most people her age. Not when it comes to this kind of work. But me on the other hand this is close to painting wielding carpentry its a lot like doing ceramic tile work or Laying brick cut little pieces and put them together. And with my COPD I don't have to smell paint fumes or wielding fumes or saw dust or cement dust. Its a lot easier on my lungs. So here is a quilt I made the other day .I constructed it out of old work shirts mostly from when I was a wielding. Some pieces have little holes from the splatter of the rods. I made a few quilts last month but I think I am done. Now the weather is warm I can go out side and paint. I am going to do a lot more paints using the mud colors this Summer.........

Egypt
I did that painting about the Aztecs and Mayans. So I decided to do one about the Egyptians. The way people first started to control the population with Gods and Large buildings and places of religious rituals. Like human sacrifice and animal sacrifice and all type of other bullshit. Yes these people were one of the first to realize you have to have a army or police then a leader or a King and gods for people to worship. This is the formula for civilization. And we still live under it today because most people are just not educated.
Or they are educated into it. Brought up under the yoke of religion. And bigotry. I hope mankind does not have to suffer to much more of this hypocrisy. Its like the Gothic Churches of Europe the taller the ceilings the more you are overwhelmed and belittled. The more you feel like you are in the presents of GOD. That is a concuss thing the builders did. Just like the pyramids in Egypt and the Ta's Mahala in India and the pyramids in Mexico or the Statues on Easter Island. They are all the same things....Don't you just love history and the facts....... Today we are becoming more like the Romans. Now we worship on Sundays at the big arenas watching Football or Basketball or Hockey or the latest Music Act. Its all the same. 30 x 40 oil on linen $ 200.000 USD

Guitar and Chair
I don't do many still life pieces but here is one. In the corner of a room sparse and bare is a small Mexican guitar leaning up against a old wooden chair.Waiting for the owner to return once again and play it hard and let the music begin. Vodka will spill from the lips of the man into the hole of the guitar again. Into the pores of the wood it will soak Till the souls of the man and guitar are chocked. I don't know why I did not put a bottle of alcohol in this painting maybe next time Anyway this one is 24 x 28 oil on linen $ 200.000 dollars USD

Giving Up
Here sits the glass ashtray silent but with it comes the ever present urge, the desire, the impending calm that only nicotine can give you. Yes it is perhaps one of the most addictive drugs in the world. Because it calms a frightened and weak animal who is naturally nervous and afraid. Because people are basically prey you put a man on the planes of Africa and he is going to be eaten by something pretty quick Without some kind of technology we are not the eaters but the eaten. So a drug that calms us down and lets us function in this mechanical and electronic world is perfect. Except it gives you lung cancer and takes away the quality of your life. If you can't walk to the disco you dam sure can't dance. So make some other way of taking nicotine that is satisfying and effective please without smoking......... I have quit five and a half years.

A Horse of Course
This is a copy of a painting I seen on the net I can't remember who did it but I am pretty sure I have seen it before by someone else so its a copy of a copy. Anyway its a nice pose of one of the most majestic animals in the world also one of the most dangerous more people have been killed by horses than any other animal. Its like now more people are being killed by cars. But before the car it was the horse And you can see in his eye that he will kick you, bit you or stomp you to death if you show one once of fear. Ha ha Anyway its a 30 x 40 oil on linen $ 200.000 dollars USD

Nothing
I am taking the day off today. No paintings or pictures. Just a few lines about something everyone does everyday you know it the hobby the job the classes the love life its pretty much all we humans do scurrying around this planet. In hopeless pursuit of it like it will change us or our lives. Its out there everywhere. If I just had that or if I could just do this. Then all my dreams would come true. People spend a lot of time looking for it and planning for it. Reading books taking tests trying to find the answers If I just had more money. I could buy it. Its like King Solomon said 2000 years ago everything we do is in vain. It means NOTHING. So have a good day and do nothing.....

Woman
This is a copy of a painting by Omar Ortiz from Mexico City he does oil painting that are so fine and detailed they look like photos. My version is not that slick but a nice example none the lest. To me it shows the vulnerability of a woman and also her strength in a very interesting pose. If you have the time go look at some of his other paintings on the web. Anyway this one is for sale Oil on linen 28 x 32 $ 200.000 dollars. USD

Man and Woman
This is a picture about the duality of man. With out man there can be no woman and without woman there can be no man. As much as we try to make the two different we are the same. And here is a painting to represent that fact. Oil on linen 30 x 40 $ 200.000 dollars

Aztecs and Mayan
A painting of one of the serpent gods of the Aztecs and in the back a Mayan pyramid.. American Indian culture was not just the Plains tribes living in teepee's. It was a highly developed civilization from the pacific northwest all the way to the Andes in South America. And no place was it richer than in Mexico. Its just a shame the Spaniards destroyed most of there art and literature. But here is a piece that survived. Oil on linen 30 x 40 $ 200.000 dollars Put some history on your walls.
Cubism
Picasso is said to be the father of cubism. But people have been teaching drawing with geometric shapes for a long time he was just the first to sell his unfinished paintings ha ha This is a copy of a Itailian painter Berlini or something I think it is the best example of the cubism style I have ever seen. So here it is Oil on linen 30 x 36 $ 200.000 dollars.

Abstracts
This is a abstract painting I did months ago its basically geometric shapes on top of each other to create depth What I like about this kind of art is your not having to be so perfect. The shapes and the light are not really important its if they work together that is what is important. The colors and shades just have to harmonize with each other. And of course match the couch. Doing these types of paintings is like hitting a golf ball. You have to hit a lot of bad shots before you start to hit some good ones. And its not as easy as it looks. So it takes a lot of practice..So if you need a maroonish painting to match the couch here it is . Oil on linen 30 x 40 $ 200.00 dollars......

Billy Carter
This is a painting of my daughter Betsy's Ex- husband he was her bass player. And a really good guy. Billy the boogie woogie bass man. Holding down the bottom it takes a certain type of person to do that and do it good and not get in the way of the lead players. So rock on B.C. oil on linen 30 x 40 $ 200.00 dollars
The Waitress
This is the same girl I did in Rag Heads but this time she is a waitress. And while I was doing it I was thinking she is turning out more Greek or Mediterranean not so Spanish or Mexican Like the first time I painted her. It is hard for me to capture the essence of a person with paint. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. Its like those Chinese paintings you see online they have no soul. This painting has a soul she is there staring right back at you waiting to take your order. Ha ha Its kind of like that scene from the Godfather where Michael Corleone is at the little cafe in Sicily And he asks his body guards to inquire about the girl in the purple dress. And the guy says she looks more Greek than Italian. Anyway she is for sale 36 x 36 oil on linen $ 200.00 dollars

Graffiti Train
This is not a painting this is a boxcar from a train that is parked in our town. As you can see it has a beautiful paint job on it.. Graffiti Trains are here all the time however. This one caught my eye cause it is not the standard rusty brown like most of them or the black tankers but of all colors white. And it has a border or something on the top did they get on top of the car and paint that or have a ladder or do it from another car on the side that is 12 or 15 foot high. And with a can of spray paint that is a lot of work. And dangerous. Anyway with the beautiful blue sky and little dancing clouds as a background and the great art work. I thought it needed posting..
Girl in the door
Here is a picture of a girl I seen on the web. She is standing in the door of a old shed. Its the contrast of the old building and new girl that caught my eye and the pose its nice too.anyway here she is 30 x 40 oil on linen $ 200.00 dollars
Black girl

Seven Deadly Sins
I have heard it said that the ten commandments are the basics for western law. However I think a better format would be the 7 deadly sins. Yes Greed should be against the law along with anger and pride. Envy and Lust also involve other people. So that kind of behavior should be frowned upon. Gluttony and lazy are crimes against one's own soul. So that should be punishment enough. Anyway if you would like to be reminded of the 7 deadly sins at work or at home here is a oil painting on linen 30 x 40 for $ 200.00 dollars plus shipping and handling. And the poor guy on the left is you a victim of circumstance. A pawn to be used by all these greedy fat anger lazy lustful envious women who are full of themselves. ha ha Art is life

Rag Heads
This is a painting I did of a girl from the Internet. When I was a kid I can remember women and girls wearing bandannas and scarfs on their heads in the summer working in the fields. Or just going out to the fields with food for lunch. Finding a tree for some shade and a pickup tailgate as a table. So I have a soft spot in me for a woman with a rag on her head. Oil on linen 31 x 39 $200.00 dollars

The lovers
This is a copy of a paint by Otto Mueller from around 1900 its called the Lovers and was copied by a lot of the artist at the turn of the last century Picasso did a version of it. But I think the heads and arms were not attached in his ha ha. I did this in a style where you paint a bold pattern first then you paint the image on top lightly so the under paint comes through. It gives it a little different look. So Oil on linen 28x36 $200.00 dollars plus shipping.

Jackson Pollack
This is a copy of a Jackson Pollack painting. Its a American Indian Medicine Man performing some kind of dance to influence the Future of the Tribe or a individual through the spirit world. Or that is what I think anyway.... Pollack is one of this country's greatest artist and most expensive. This painting is probably valued in the millions of dollars. Because he did it when he was still in California and before he moved to New York and started his drip painting style.A style for which he is probably most remembered . However he was a very talented abstract artist before that and this is one of his best examples in my opinion. Its a 33 x 34 oil on linen for $200.00 plus shipping.just email me wardhurley@ yahoo.com

Yes or no
This is a painting I did a few months ago about the choices we all have to make in our lives. Not necessarily good or evil. Just this or that should I stay or should I go. Everyone has those voices in their heads. And doing bad or good has little to do with it. Its the fact we are humans and have the option is the point. Its a 36 inch x 36 inch oil on linen for $ 200.00 dollars plus shipping just e-mail me....

I was Thinking
Yes it happens to me sometimes. Its not when it quite and I am all alone and my mind is at rest. It seems to be the opposite. When things a moving going running. Everything is at a fast pace That is when the thoughts of possibility's invade my consciousness and take over my brain. Maybe its just a result of having to work my whole life and the challenges that everyday tasks bring. Problem solving is a large part of everyday movement. And when your brain is all rev ed up and working. That is when you get the aha moments. Yes those little glimpses of brain power that sometimes even surprise yourself. If we could just tap in to that at will What a better place this would be. That's what I was Thinking..

Things to Use
Some people think art is only paintings and sculpture But the truth is everything we do is art from Grandma making beautiful quilts to a set of cabinet for a house. It is all the same someone working with there mind and body to create something of use. Yes the key is use. Things that make life easier or more interesting. Well then you ask how do you use a picture of dogs playing poker. Does it make you laugh or does it just make you think now that is the stupid thing I have ever seen. What ever your reaction is. It is right to you. And that is its purpose. So don't judge art or people for what they produce. Its not a contest its just what humans do. Somethings you will need to use for your life and somethings you won't. So do some art today..........

Art
There are basically three kinds of artists. The people who draw with pencil and pen. The painter. and the person with something to say. The first is usually anal people who are in search of perfection every line every shadow must be correct or its not art to them. Because they think art is a skill that you learn. Those people should just take a picture. Then there is the painter the slave to the light. In constant pursuit of the light shadows shades composition these are the disciplines of the painters. Then come the real artist they see love hate hope joy and all the in justice and promise in the world and through there minds they create works that compel you to think and hopefully act to make this exististance a little better for the next generation. That is the true purpose of the artist and all ways has been. From cave drawings about animals to hunt and eat. To the face of Mona Lisa. Everyone has needs and desires and art is a way to bring your thoughts into the real world. And show everyone else how you feel. It is human to create art so be human.
