MT Lane Band

Well it happened about a year ago. I was at the golf course here in Lubbock and this guy who plays there a lot was showing a video of him playing music in a bar in town and commenting on the play of this mandolin player . So out of curiosity l asked where he was playing and he said the Pub 50 club and I said I didn’t know there where bars that let old people play. Then he said the Pub 50 does so I asked if it would be all right if I came by some time and sit in he said sure. That was over a year ago and now we are playing there twice a month and at other places. We have a cajon player that I meet at the golf course also and invited to play with us.
    So about the name the guitar play and lead singer is Mike Trammel that’s the M then there is me Tom Pearson the bass player and backup singer the T last is Leon Lane the cajon player so he is the Lane. I came up with the name MT Lane as a play on words Empty Lane kind of like memory lane but our memories are empty We are so old we can’t remember nothing. 63 60 58 So you can see we are a little passed our prime we have a good time so check us out on Facebook mtlaneband all one word.

Golf tounament

Well it’s the Memorial Day weekend again and time for the annual Reece Golf tournament. I played in it last year but this time I had to pass cause with most things in life when money is envolved the fix is in. That is right money corrupts everything it comes in contact with. You know all the sand baggers pay off the tournament director with a small bribe and there you go you have guys who can really play with guys who just are out there to have fun. It’s the same everywhere you go.
    But on the bright side I am playing music at the party this Saturday with my two compadres Mike Trammel and Leon Lane clectively know as the Empty Lane Band . We have been doing gigs around town for about s year now. We do a classic country show with some old rock and roll songs thrown in  and some light comedy. So it will be a fun time had by all or most the ones who do not play well that day will be mad no matter what so that will be my Memorial Day weekend I hope you have a good one also.

Doctor Office

This is a painting I seen in a doctors office I think it suppose to be Tuscany or someplace in Italy I just love how vibrant  the yellow is in the wheat field. The trees and houses in the background give it depth . And the browns and reds in the foreground make it warm. I don't know who did it but I do like it very much. 

Painting with Acrylic

This is a painting of a Indian girl she is sad because the white man destroyed her culture. Kind of like the Romans destroyed Northern Europe's culture back in the 1st century or the Viking invading from the 10th to the 14th century's. changing the culture of all the places they invaded and settled. Or Islam's conquering of northern Africa and the Iberian Peninsula. Or Alexander the Great taking over Persia bringing the Greek culture with them. I don't know how I got on this my story here is about how acrylic paints are not a good choice to use for portraits they dry so fast that it is hard to get them to blend properly. My point is some things blend together and some things don't. Some people assimilate into the new culture and some never will . This is not for sale it is unfinished..        

Super Bowl

What a great thing the NFL's Championship game has become. One newscaster stated the other day it is a new American holiday. Yes a simple little ball game has transformed this country for a week or so into a football frenzy. Transforming what ever city it is performed in. Into the most desired destination of the month. All the media will be there to try and get the story. And if they can't find one they'll make one up..  All the out of work actors and musicians looking to network there services.  All the pimps and prostitutes doing there jobs. All the bars and restaurants raking in the bucks with alcohol and food and the bartender can get you any drug you want. All the police just waiting to bust your head if you get out of line and get five or ten thousand dollars in fines and court cost and lets don't forget lawyer fees. And of course all the gambling that is going on. So as you can see this is truly an American holiday. It has sex, drugs, food, gambling, violence, sports and entertainment everything American's lust after and enjoy. So have fun and get your fill...      

Amber

I just seen a picture of two little girls on facebook. It was a Amber alert  And the first thought that went through my minded was They finally get to spend some time with there Daddy. Because most child abductions are the noncustodial parents feed up with the system and there X-Wives  holding there kids as emotional hostages. To try and get some type of sick revenge on there X-husbands and in the process mentally scaring  there own children childhood. So we have a bunch of jacked up people who will pass that to the next generation. A generation of drug addicts and alcoholics trying to fill that hole in there soul. That not being around there Fathers created. Thanks mom..... I am not going to go no and no about this.. But the next time you see one of these Amber Alerts just realize most are kids that are with there Daddy's  and are safer there than any place in the world.........Because most men would kill a hundred men to protect his child.......
